A student from the English School of Asturias wins awards for top results in Cambridge Examinations
A student from The English School of Asturias has won prestigious awards from the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) in recognition of her top performance in the June 2010 Cambridge examination session.
CIE's annual Cambridge Outstanding Achiever Awards programme celebrates success in its International General Certificate of Secondary examinations (I.G.C.S.E.). Students in over 150 countries enter Cambridge examinations every year.
Isabel Vallina García received High Achiever Awards for being Top in the World for her Spanish Language examination and Top student in Spain for both French and Geography I.G.C.S.E. examinations.
Edexcel, the other British Examination Board also recently recognised Isabel by awarding her a High Achiever Award for obtaining the highest Subject Mark in Spain for her GCSE Science examination in June 2010.
The Headmaster, Mr. Mellor, said that the awards recognised the commitment of both students and staff. He said that he was very proud of Isabel. Her Spanish teacher, Mr Armando Álvarez, said that she was a wonderful example to everyone in the school.
Isabel received her Cambridge Outstanding Achiever Awards at a school ceremony on Wednesday April 13th.
